Check Early Years Pupil Premium eligibility
Childcare providers may apply to claim top-up funding for eligible children through Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).
Only apply if your child was born between 1st April 2021 and 31st August 2025.
Applications can only be made from when the child is 9 months of age up to the term in which they turn 5 years of age. If in a private day nursery, EYPP does not apply to children in a reception class.
If you meet one or more of the following criteria and your child has started their Universal Nursery Education Funding Entitlement, their school or childcare provider may be able to claim additional funding to support your child's learning and development. Eligibility criteria
You or your partner must be receiving one of the following:
- Universal Credit
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- The guarantee element of State Pension Credit
- Working Tax Credit run-on, paid for 4 weeks after families stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Child Tax Credit (with no Working Tax Credit) with an annual household income of no more than £16,190
- Support from NASS (National Asylum Support Service) under part 6 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Or your child meets one of the following:
- Child is a Looked After Child, or has been in Local Authority Care for one day or more
- Your child has been adopted from local authority care
- Your child has left care under Special Guardianship or a Child Arrangement Order, an Adoption Order or a Special Guardianship Order
